The tablet sits in a resident’s room and runs in kiosk mode: the screen shows only large tiles — the nurse, the manager, other rooms, family. One tap starts a video call. In the web panel an administrator sets up sections, staff, rooms and announcements for the whole care home network.
02 · Challenge
Older people find ordinary messengers and menus hard to use.
Solution
Large colour tiles with no extra screens, kiosk mode with screen pinning, a screensaver when idle and one-tap calling.
03 · Challenge
If nobody answers on the other end, the resident is left without contact.
Solution
Incoming calls arrive as FCM push notifications, and if a video call is not picked up the system calls the other person’s mobile phone.
04 · What we built
Tiles with a colour, icon and photo, nested sub-sections and a live preview in the admin panel.
A cover image and video appear on every tablet in the network, and an announcement can be republished.
A summary, a daily chart, and missed and declined calls.

05 · Challenge
Every care home has its own staff, rooms and set of services.
Solution
Multi-network setup: each network has its own app colours and title, sections are shared or tied to a specific home, and staff are shown based on where the resident lives.
